An anime adaptation was announce for noho’s supernatural slice-of-life manga Tonari no Yokai-san (The Yokai Next Door) over a year ago, and now we know when to expect it. Well, vaguely at least! According to the latest update, the adaptation will premiere sometime in 2024.
As for who’s behind the production, we’ll have to wait for further details. In the meantime, a new illustration made its way online to tease it.
The Tonari no Yokai-san manga first started on Twitter in August 2017, and then began its serialization on East Press’ Mato Gross website in July 2018. Four collected volumes have been published for the series, which features tales of humans and spirits of folklore who exist alongside one another in a small Japanese town.
