Tokyo’s Unique Detective Conan Collaborations Happening Now

When in Tokyo, it’s almost impossible to avoid spotting anime—whether it’s splashed across billboards in Akihabara, featured in themed cafes, or printed on everything from bottled drinks to kitchen towels. But some collaborations go beyond novelty and into full-blown, interactive fan experiences. During my most recent trip to Tokyo, I encountered two standout collaborations that brought Detective Conan—the long-running mystery anime loved by all ages—into the real world in clever, interactive ways.

JR East x Detective Conan Stamp Rally

To celebrate the latest Detective Conan movie, JR East launched a citywide “Detective Conan Stamp Rally” running from April 4 to June 22, 2025. It’s the perfect way to combine sightseeing with sleuthing—and maybe even score some limited-edition merch along the way.

Here’s how it works: grab a stamp booklet and travel to 27 JR East stations across Tokyo, plus one in Nagano. Each station features a different Conan character and a beautifully designed stamp you can collect just outside the ticket gates. Collect three designated stamps and you’ll receive an exclusive prize at Tokyo Station. Go the distance and gather all 28? You’ll be entered into a raffle with prizes like posters signed by Conan’s voice actor Minami Takayama or Kogorō Mōri’s Rikiya Koyama.

JR East recommends using travel passes like the JR TOKYO Wide Pass to make the journey smoother and more cost-effective. This stamp rally doubles as a unique way to explore Tokyo—both its iconic hotspots and its lesser-known corners—with Conan as your guide. It’s a city-spanning challenge that fans won’t want to miss if in the area during the promotion.

Sunshine City’s “The Clever Insight in the Sky”

Running from April 4 to June 8, 2025, Sunshine City in Ikebukuro becomes a Detective Conan playground with its immersive collaboration event, “The Clever Insight in the Sky.” Timed with the release of the new movie Detective Conan: Afterimage of an Eye, this event spans the Sunshine 60 Observatory, Aquarium, and ALPA Sky Restaurant mall.

At Tenbo Park in the observatory, visitors can join a two-part mystery rally featuring original cases involving Conan and Kogorō. Completing both earns you limited-edition collectibles like clear cards and shikishi-style coasters. The Detective Conan Plaza pop-up store features merch exclusive to this location, and the café offers Polaroid-style collectible cards with qualifying purchases.

Elsewhere, Sunshine Aquarium hosts a Conan-themed quiz rally and sells charming merchandise featuring the cast alongside aquatic creatures. Meanwhile, 45 restaurants in the ALPA mall participate in a themed fair, rewarding customers with original goods when ordering from select menus. During Golden Week, Fountain Square even hosts live character photo ops with Conan himself.

Whether you’re chasing stamps across the city or solving mysteries in a high-rise observatory, these collaborations show how Tokyo brings anime to life in delightfully immersive ways. For fans of Detective Conan, it’s a spring full of clues, collectibles, and character cameos you won’t want to miss.
