Tokyo Revengers Has Over 50 Million Copies in CirculationAre you a fan of Tokyo Revengers? You’re in good company.

The manga, which currently has 25 volumes in Japan, has a combined total of over 50 million copies in circulation. That includes print and digital, and copies that are out there in the world (like on bookshelves) plus sold.

But any way you slice it, that’s a pretty darn impressive number.

Last summer, that number was 40 million, meaning the demand for Revengers remains quite high. The anime, which ran from April to September of last year, probably helped, as did the live-action film that came out in July of last year.

Tokyo Revengers is the work of Ken Wakui, and has run in Weekly Shonen Magazine since 2017. Last year, it also spawned a spinoff, Todai Revengers, by Shinpei Funatsu.

Here’s how Kodansha Comics describes Tokyo Revengers:

Watching the news, Takemichi Hanagaki learns that his girlfriend from way back in middle school, Hinata Tachibana, has died. The only girlfriend he ever had was just killed by a villainous group known as the Tokyo Manji Gang. He lives in a crappy apartment with thin walls, and his six-years-younger boss treats him like an idiot. Plus, he’s a complete and total virgin … At the height of his rock-bottom life, he suddenly time-leaps twelve years back to his middle school days!! To save Hinata, and change the life he spent running away, hopeless part-timer Takemichi must aim for the top of Kanto’s most sinister delinquent gang!!
