Toei’s Coyote Anime Studio is Being Dissolved
The coyote anime studio was established as a joint venture between Toei, Toei Animation Music Publishing, and DLE Inc. in 2017, with plans in place to produce original anime for Japan and other markets outside of the region. The studio’s Shimajiro to Sora Tobu Fune anime film opened in theaters in Japan on March 12, but the shareholder companies have since made the decision to dissolve the company.
DLE Inc. divested its 33% shares to Toei and Toei Animation Music Publishing in April of 2019, just a month before DLE was acquired by Asahi Broadcasting. The decision to dissolve coyote came down to the remaining two shareholders.
