Three New Isekai Anime for a Fantastic Fall Season

Another villainess is controlling her fate in this fall's isekai offerings

Need your isekai fix? Great news: there’s plenty in the new fall season! So if you need to escape this dimension and travel to a fantasy world, you’re all set. Looking for love? Action? Cat girls with huge swords? We’ve got you covered.

Check out these three out-of-this-world anime, coming to your watch list this autumn. Which one are you most excited for?

Reincarnated as a Sword

Reincarnated as a Sword

It’s hard to believe it’s happening, but it is. This unusual isekai is making the leap to anime. So if you’ve ever wanted to live vicariously through a sentient sword, you’re about to have a great autumn.

Our hero can’t remember his name, but he remembers he was just an average guy before this. Now reincarnated as a sword (as the title suggests), he waits for a champion to find him. He finds Fran: a catgirl slave with a warrior spirit. Together, with him as her mentor, the two set out for adventure.

The Eminence in Shadow

The Eminence in Shadow

Why do we love isekai so much? Probably because it lets us imagine ourselves as a central figure in a fantastical world. At least, that’s how it is for Cid, the star of The Eminence in Shadow. He longs to be a manipulative puppetmaster, pulling the strings from the shadows. When he’s reincarnated into a fantasy world, he sets that life up for himself.

What Cid doesn’t realize is that it’s all true. While he plays at leading a secret organization keeping the world safe… that’s actually what he’s doing. What’s really going on here? And what will happen when he finds out his games aren’t games anymore?

I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss

I'm the Villainess, So I'm Taming the Final Boss

It’s an isekai series about a girl who finds herself in her favorite otome game. But bad news: she’s the main love rival, and she’s doomed to an unhappy ending. Now it’s up to her to change her fate. Sounds similar to a certain other anime series, doesn’t it? Well, there’s a difference. While Katarina Claes just tries to navigate her doom flags one by one, Aileen Lauren d’Autriche has a plan.

Like other light novel adaptations, it’s all in the title. She’ll simply seduce the Demon Lord at the end of the game and secure herself a better fate. How will she fare? You can start watching now and find out for yourself!
