The nominees are out for the Saturn Awards, which is the “official awards group of The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films” for more than half a century! There are three otaku interests among the titles.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Suzume have both been nominated for the category Best Animated Film. They will be competing against Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Elemental, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.
Meanwhile, the anime Chainsaw Man is a nominee in the category Best Animated Television Series or Special. It will compete against Gremlins: Secrets of Mogwai, Harley Quinn, Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, My Adventures with Superman, Star Trek: Lower Decks, and Star Wars: The Bad Batch.
We’ll know the winners on February 4, when the ceremony will proceed at the LA Marriott Burbank Airport Hotel in Burbank, California.
