The Pokémon Company Reaches a Settlement with Leakers

Two people are in trouble for leaking images of a Pokémon Sword and Shield strategy guide prior to the official release. The first person was working for the company printing the guide, which is how they received access to it. The second person helped spread it online, where it went viral. The Pokémon Company also received something of a backlash to the images, because people made assumptions about them while seeing them out of context.

The Pokémon Company responded by asking the images to be taken down and getting litigious. This all started back in 2019, and the issue has now been settled. The two leakers have to pay a combined $300,000 to The Pokémon Company, or $150,000 each.
