The irregular at magic high school Trailer Streams LiSA’s New Song

Yesterday a trailer for The irregular at magic high school sequel anime series dropped, which included a tease that more info would be released today. And they kept their promise! A full promotional video is now out, and in it you can hear part of LiSA’s new opening theme song “Shouted Serenade.” A decade ago, LiSA, who has been especially big because of her work with Demon Slayer, crooned the original theme song back when The irregular at magic high school first became a TV anime.

The promotional video additionally announces that the anime will debut in April 2024, and lists off more actors who are reprising their roles.

According to this, Yumi Uchiyama plays Erika Chiba, Takuma Terashima plays Leonhart Saijo, Satomi Satou plays Mizuki Shibata, Atsushi Tamaru plays Mikihiko Yoshida, Sora Amamiya plays Honoka Mitsui, Yuiko Tatsumi plays Shizuku Kitayama, Maaya Uchida plays Ayako Kuroba, Emiri Katō plays Fumiya Kuroba, Kana Hanazawa plays Mayumi Saegusa, Eri Kitamura plays Kasumi Saegusa, Aoi Yūki plays Izumi Saegusa, and Koji Yusa plays Zhou Gongjin. These actors have all played these characters before.

There are also some new actors: Kikunosuke Toya plays Minoru Kudou, Tatsumaru Tachibana plays Takuma Shippou, and Houchu Ohtsuka plays Retsu Kudou. Motomu Kiyokawa previously voiced Retsu Kudou, but he has unfortunately passed away.

The anime is being made at 8-Bit, with Jimmy Stone directing.

Yen Press releases the light novels in English, and gave this description for the first volume:

The year is 2095. Magic has been tamed as another form of technology, and the practice of magic is now a rigorous discipline.
