There is an odd kind of hope within the walls, and that comes in the form of the Cursed Children. This group consists of young girls who were infected by the Gastrea virus but managed to live on, using the superhuman powers granted as a result of the infection to their advantage. Together with a partner they can physically battle with Gastrea enemies, but many mysteries still lie within their super-powered bodies.

Rentarō Satomi is a second year student who works as a Promoter in Tendō Civil Security, and he teams up with the Cursed Child Initiator Enju Aihara to take on the Gastrea before they finish their job of wiping out humanity for good.



Black Bullet started as a light novel series written by Shiden Kanzaki and illustrated by Saki Ukai. It was adapted into a manga in 2012, and the anime series followed in 2014. Masayuki Kojima (Monster, Bottom Biting Bug) directs, with Tatsuhiko Urahata (Strawberry Panic!, Cardfight!! Vanguard) on series composition for the Kinema Citrus and ORANGE ANIMATION STUDIO production.
