The restaurant supply company Hachimenroppi and marketing firm Nexer decided to do a survey about food. But not just any food — it’s specifically about food in Studio Ghibli movies. 500 people shared which Ghibli movie had the tastiest-looking food.
In fifth place is Howl’s Moving Castle. A person voting for this movie remarked, “The bacon and eggs look so good, but the ones I make end up so plain-looking.”
In fourth place is My Neighbor Totoro. “I want to eat Satsuki’s bento,” commented someone in the survey. “Just thinking of a young girl working that hard to make them for her family brings tears to my eyes.”
Third place went to Kiki’s Delivery Service. “The bread they bake and the coffee Osono pours for Kiki look so good,” insisted a person who voted for this movie. “Watching the anime, I almost feel like I can smell them even.”
Spirited Away nabbed the second spot. One of the comments for picking this movie was, “The meat that Chihiro’s parents eat right at the start of the movie looks so good.”
So which movie took first place?
The answer is Castle in the Sky! The fried eggs on toast apparently got a lot of people salivating, and it got this movie the top spot.
