SPY x FAMILY, One Piece Film Red Win at Tokyo Anime Film Festival

The winners of the Tokyo Anime Film Festival have been revealed! To be eligible, these titles needed to have premiered between October 1, 2021 and September 30, 2022.

For the category of best television anime, the winner was fan favorite SPY x FAMILY. As for the category of best movie anime, that was snagged by One Piece Film Red.

Reiko Yoshida of The Heike Story and Liz and the Blue Bird won for Original Work/Screenplay Category.

Goro Taniguchi of One Piece Film Red is taking home the award for the best Director.

There is a category for best animator, and this went to Yoshimichi Kameda of Mob Psycho 100.

Moving on to the category that covers Background/Coloring/VisualCategory, the winner is Koji Eto of The Garden of Sinners.

Ado received the award for Sound/Performance for One Piece Film Red.

There is also an Anime Fan award that is decided by fans, not judges. 183,364 fans votes went to Mechamato, making it the winner.

The actual Tokyo Anime Award Festival event will take place next month, on March 10-13.

Crunchyroll is streaming SPY x FAMILY and gave this description for it:

“World peace is at stake and secret agent Twilight must undergo his most difficult mission yet—pretend to be a family man. Posing as a loving husband and father, he’ll infiltrate an elite school to get close to a high-profile politician.
