Sonic the Hedgehog 3, the latest in the Hollywood adaptations, will hit the big screen on December 20. Ahead of this a featurette has dropped introducing Keanu Reeves as Shadow. The featurette includes footage of Reeves recording lines, interviews with members of the cast (Reeves, Jim Carrey, Idris Elba, and Ben Schwartz), and scenes from the upcoming movie. Reeves is new to the cast, while the other actors have been in the series before.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 Featurette
“For fifty years, Shadow’s been in a state of suspended animation,” Reeves, who definitely has some otaku interests, says in the featurette. “He’s coming out of it seeking revenge. . . There was really the internal journey, to get to the anger and the emotion. It was intense.”
“Shadow has that sympathetic, brooding kind of darkness that Keanu has mastered so brilliantly,” Carrey, who plays Ivo Robotnik and Gerald Robotnik, remarks.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is rated PG and tickets are currently on-sale.
Here is an official description for the film:
