Thanks to the latest update on the series, we now know exactly when to expect the anime adaptation of Keigo Maki’s Shikimori’s Not Just a Cutie manga. After being announced for the month of April 2022 back in October of last year, the rom-com fun begins in Japan on ABC TV/TV Asahi networks’s ANiMAZiNG!!! programming block starting on April 2, and a new key visual featuring Shikimori-san and Izumi-kun is here to hype it up.
In addition to the date and visual, the official website announced that YouTube singer Nasuo☆ will perform the anime’s opening theme song, with voice actress/singer Yuki Nakashima—known for roles like Lisa Imai in BanG Dream!) on the ending theme.
There are also three new voice cast members, including Misato Matsuoka as Kyo Nekozaki, Rina Hidaka as Yui Hachimitsu, and Nobuhiko Okamoto as Shu Inuzuka. They join the previously announced leads of Saori Onishi as Shikimori-san and Shuichiro Umeda as Izumi-kun.
New visual:
Ryota Ito (My Senpai is Annoying) is directing the anime, with Yoshimi Narita (HappinessCharge PreCure!) on series composition and Ai Kikuchi (NEW GAME!) handling character designs for the Doga Kobo production.
Kodansha USA publishes the original manga in English and describes it:
Shikimori and Izumi are high school sweethearts. They hold hands walking home from school, they flirt in the halls, they tease each other. But Shikimori knows what she wants, and how to get it, and she can turn from cutie to cool in an instant.
