One of the big surprises revealed at this weekend’s Virtual Crunchyroll Expo was the announcement of a Shenmue anime based on Sega and creator Yu Suzuki’s game series of the same name. The adaptation is in the works as the result of a collaboration between Crunchyroll and Adult Swim.
Featuring Shenmue creator Yu Suzuki as executive producer, the Shenmue anime will be a 13-episode series produced at Telecom Animation Film (Tower of God, Lupin the Third: Part 5). Chikara Sakurai (One-Punch Man Season 2) is directing, and further details will be revealed later.
