Sentai Filmworks just keeps rolling out with solid acquisition announcements, and their latest is no exception. On Friday, they announced that they’ve acquired the rights to the 2009 Guin Saga anime, which is based on the 151-volume novel series by the late Kaoru Kurimoto.
Directed by Atsushi Wakabayashi (designs for The Twelve Kingdoms and Yu Yu Hakusho), the 26-episode series also features music by acclaimed composer Nobuo Uematsu, most famous for his work on Final Fantasy games before moving on to Hironobu Sakaguchi’s Mistwalker, where his compositional body of work kicked off with Blue Dragon.
While waiting for Sentai Filmworks’ release of the series, you can always check out five volumes of the novels, along with Hajime Sawada’s manga adaptation, all published in North America by Vertical Inc.
