Following the act of the anime film, the SAND LAND anime series is set to premiere in Japan via Disney+ Star’s STAR Anime Series programming on March 20, with Hulu to stream in the U.S. The staff behind the production shared a brand new trailer and key visual, taking the opportunity to reveal the opening and ending theme song artists in the process.
The TV version will open to the tune of Kroi’s “Water Carrier” opening theme and close to the tune of Tempalay’s “Drive My Idea” ending theme.
As previously reported, the first six episodes of the SAND LAND anime will bring the contents of the film to the small screen, but starting with episode seven it’s moving into new territory. Episodes 7-13 will take the story to Forestland. With the new story arc comes new characters, and the Forestland story will introduce Anna (voiced by Mikako Komatsu) and Meunière (voiced by Ayumu Murase).
The SAND LAND movie features direction by Toshihisa Yokoshima and Hiroshi Kojina, with production at Sunrise, Kamikaze Douga and ANIMA.
