The anime Yoroiden Samurai Troopers (translated as Legendary Armor Samurai Troopers) might be better known to American audiences as Ronin Warriors, the name it went by with Cartoon Network’s version of it. The series originally came out in Japan between 1988 and 1989, and now, almost four decades later, it’s receiving a sequel!
The sequel is titled Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers and is scheduled to come out in January 2026. A trailer and visual were both released.

So far we know one member of the cast: Hiiro Ishibashi (Yūga Ōdō in Yu-Gi-Oh! Go Rush!! and Yu-Gi-Oh! Sevens) plays Gai.
The sequel is set in contemporary Shinjuku and follows five boys who battle the demon emperor Arago by putting on Yoroi Gear samurai armor.
The series is being made at Sunrise, with Yōichi Fujita of Gintama and Mr. Osomatsu helming the project as director. The music is being composed by Shūji Katayama, who is known for working on Overlord.
Discotek Media offers all 39 episodes of Samurai Troopers/Ronin Warriors on Blu-ray, plus its OVA series. It gave this description for the plot:

Long ago, there existed an evil spirit that waged a war to conquer the human world. Defeat drove him back to the realm of darkness, but not before vowing to return and exact his revenge. A thousand years later, the world has all but forgotten the name of Arago, Emperor of Doom. When black clouds smother the bright city lights of Shinjuku the people of the world plunge into terror, unprepared for the evil spirit’s return! Five young men emerge, wearing mystical armor said to grant strength enough to defeat Arago once and for all! But despite the might of their armor, Ryo of the Wildfire, Toma of the Heavens, Shu of the Stone, Shin of the Torrent, and Seiji of the Nimbus will have to join together and learn to work as a team if they are to have any chance of defeating the armies of the Empire of Doom.
