Rick and Morty: The Anime Sets Debut Date, Shares Trailer and Cast Info

Rick and Morty: The Anime will debut on Adult Swim at midnight on August 15 in English. Then two days later, on August 17, the Japanese dub (with English subtitles) arrives on Adult Swim at midnight. In each case, the episode becomes available on Max a day later. A trailer has dropped to hype the show, and information on the cast was also released.

In the English version, Joe Daniels plays Rick and Jerry, Gabriel Regojo plays Morty, Donna Bella Litton plays Summer, and Patricia Duran plays Beth.

In the Japanese version, Youhei Tadano plays Rick, Keisuke Chiba plays Morty, Akiha Matsui plays Summer, Manabu Muraji plays Jerry and Takako Fuji plays Beth.

At least some of the Japanese cast consists of actors who play the same characters for the Japanese dub of the original Rick and Morty cartoon. On the English side, these are all different actors from the ones in the original Rick and Morty.

Takashi Sano of Tower of God wrote and directed Rick and Morty: The Anime, and it’s executive produced by Jason Demarco and Joseph Chou.

Michael Ouweleen, who is the president of Adult Swim, remarked, “Takashi Sano, in addition to being a super-talented director, is also a huge ‘Rick and Morty’ fan. He’s the perfect person to give us all this alternate version of this amazing show. And the perfect way to launch this series is by doing our favorite thing – drive ridiculous vehicles around and come see all of you in person. Keep an eye out for our Rickmobile and Mortymobile as they cruise across the country and wrack up various toll tickets to celebrate the expansion of the ‘Rick and Morty’ universe.”

Adult Swim gave this description of Rick and Morty: The Anime:

In this 10-episode anime series from the world of “Rick and Morty,” Rick relaxes in a pseudo-world between multiverses, Summer helps Space Beth fight the evil Galactic Federation, and Morty falls in love with a mysterious girl who happens to be an atemporal being.
