Rehearsal Video Shows Nausicaä Kabuki Play in Action

You may have seen our previous posts about the kabuki play that aims to adapt Hayao Miyazaki’s classic Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind manga and anime film. Last time we updated on it we had some costumed photos, and now a rehearsal video is here to show how the performance looks in motion.

Kikunosuke Onoe is in the lead in a costume that offers up a mix between a traditional kimono and Nausicaä’s well-known outfit. You’ll also see Shichinosuke Nakamura as Kushana and Matsuya Onoe as Master Yupa, and if this is your first time witnessing kabuki theater you’ll be in for an interesting treat.
