Pokémon news was expected today, but what fans weren’t ready for was an exciting, and even touching Pokémon music video. Right after more information was revealed about plans for the second Sword and Shield DLC, the electrifying video was showcased, featuring the music of BUMP OF CHICKEN and direction and storyboards by none other than Rie Matsumoto (Kyousogiga).
Joining Matsumoto at anime studio BONES is Yuki Hayashi (My Hero Academia) on character designs and animation direction, with Genki Kawamura (Your Name.) producing the Pokémon music video alongside Shogakukan’s Sho-Comi magazine editor-in-chief Masami Hatanaka.
Even if you’re not a massive Pokémon fan, the results are stunning, so check out “GOTCHA” to the tune of BUMP OF CHICKEN’s single “Arcadia” below.
For those who got too caught up in the Pokémon music video and missed the actual Sword and Shield news, expansion pass The Crown Tundra is coming to the Switch game on October 22.
