The Overlord anime series—based on the books written by Kugane Maruyama—will be revisited in theaters in a compilation film project, and more details have arrived since it was first announced. The latest update has the compilation being split into two parts, with Overlord: The Undead King kicking things off in Japan on February 25, 2017. Overlord: The Dark Warrior will follow it up in theaters on March 11, 2017.
These aren’t just straight retreads of the material the anime covered. According to announcements at this week’s Overlord x Yōjo Senki Joint Press Conference, new scenes and new characters designed by novel illustrator so-bin will be added.
TV anime theme performer MYTH&ROID are coming back to work on a theme for the movie, and you can see so-bin’s new visual for the first film below.
