Back at December’s Jump Festa 2025 event, the Dragon Ball staff revealed plans for a new one-shot installment for Toyotaro’s Dragon Ball Super manga. The special chapter is set to hit the super-size April edition of Shueisha’s V Jump magazine on February 20, and a new video arrived this week to tease it.

The Dragon Ball Super one-shot will be all about Trunks’ motivation for fighting with the Saiyaman X team in the name of justice. The official Dragon Ball YouTube channel shared the new video below, featuring a sketch from the upcoming chapter. That blink-and-you’ll-miss-it portion of the video can be found around the 5:20 mark below.

The manga—which started in 2015 to adapt the Dragon Ball Super anime and eventually branched out in its own way—returned from its hiatus last April.

Here’s how VIZ Media describes the first volume:

Dragon Ball Super Plot

Having defeated Boo, Goku is starting to get bored with his life on Earth. His wife, Chi-chi, wants him to get a job, but all he wants to do is train and fight stronger enemies. Elsewhere in the universe, the God of Destruction, Beerus, and his attendant Whis are traveling from planet to planet in search of food and entertainment. After blowing up some hapless victims, Beerus is reminded of a man from his dreams with the moniker “Super Saiyan God,” or something like that… The God of Destruction sets his sights on Earth to track down this mysterious man! Maybe this will give Goku something to do?
