New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt Drops Key Art, Reveals Staff

New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt Drops Key Art, Reveals StaffPanty & Stocking with Garterbelt is back, baby. The lewd and crude classic from 2010 is getting a sequel, and now we’ve got a look at a new piece of teaser key art.

We’ve also learned who’s behind the new P&S with G anime: thankfully, a lot of the same folks who brought us the original. That includes director Hiroyuki Imaishi, writer Hiromi Wakabayashi, and character designer Atsushi Nishigori. Sushio, Shigeto Koyama, and Masaru Sakamoto, who also all worked on the original, will be providing additional character designs.

Panty & Stocking was one of the final projects created by this group at Gainax before they went off and founded Trigger, where the new anime is being animated.

In addition to designs, Sushio is working on the sequel is an animator alongside Mai Yoneyama. Yoneyama debuted as an animator on the original series. Oh, and don’t forget “special specialist” Yoh Yoshinari!

The series will air in 2025.

Here’s how Funimation described the original:

What happens when Panty and Stocking, the foul-mouthed Anarchy Sisters, are booted from the pearly gates? They take their nasty-ass attitudes to the seedy abyss between heaven and earth. Now, they spend their nights blowing up ghosts and indulging their questionable fetishes. But if they want to earn their halos back, they’ll have to collect enough Heaven Coins, while turning the streets of Daten City into a buffet of bodily fluids. And with this debaucherous duo, there’s a slim chance in hell they’ll ever make it back to heaven. Still, anything can happen when you’re rolling commando with Panty and Stocking!
