New Naruto Anime Episodes Postponed for Quality Improvement

Happy (belated) birthday, Naruto!

Back in March we learned that new episodes of the Naruto anime are on the way to continue the celebration of the adaptation’s 20th anniversary. The 4-episode special was originally planned to premiere this September, but that schedule has changed.

The official social media accounts for the Naruto and Boruto series announced that the four-episode return has been delayed in order to “increase the quality.” There’s currently no new premiere date in place.

The first of the new episodes was previously locked in for September 3, with the rest to follow on a weekly basis. FLOW is returning for the new opening and ending themes. The production committee behind the Naruto anime apologized to fans who were looking forward to the broadcast, noting that the new date will be announced via the official channels once it’s in place.

The NarutoNaruto Shippuden and BORUTO: NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS anime are all available to watch on Crunchyroll, with VIZ Media releasing them on home video.

Here’s how Crunchyroll describes the series:

The Village Hidden in the Leaves is home to the stealthiest ninja. But twelve years earlier, a fearsome Nine-tailed Fox terrorized the village before it was subdued and its spirit sealed within the body of a baby boy.
