New Live-Action Cutie Honey Film Coming This Fall

The last time we saw Go Nagai’s Cutie Honey in live-action form was in the excellent 2004 adaptation, directed by Evangelion‘s Hideaki Anno, and the 2007 Cutie Honey The Live TV series that followed. Now the classic manga is set to return to the screen in a new live-action film starring Mariya Nishiuchi (Switch Girl!!).

Cutie Honey -Tears- has wrapped principal photography, and the movie will use CG to depict the near-future setting. It should be finished by June and is set to open in Japan this fall. Asai Takeshi directs the project, with Ryo Higuchi as the VFX director.
