Last night was loaded with announcements from Netflix, focusing fully on anime properties. While the presentations were meant to save all the live-action stuff for today, the Netflix Geeked account took the opportunity to drop a note that the previously-revealed live-action adaptation of Yoshihiro Togashi’s Yu Yu Hakusho manga will debut worldwide in December 2023.
Not much else is known about the upcoming series, other than the fact that Teru Morii is working as producer, Netflix’s Director of Content Acquisition, Kazutaka Sakamoto, is executive producer, and ROBOT is working on production alongside Netflix. Stay tuned for more as it’s announced!

VIZ Media publishes the Yu Yu Hakusho manga in English and describes it:
Yusuke Urameshi was a tough teen delinquent until one selfless act changed his life…by ending it. When he died saving a little kid from a speeding car, the afterlife didn’t know what to do with him, so it gave him a second chance at life. Now, Yusuke is a ghost with a mission, performing good deeds at the beshest of Botan, the spirit guide of the dead, and Koenma, her pacifier-sucking boss from the “other side.” But what strange things await him on the borderline between life and death?
