Namco Bandai Acquires Dragon Ball Game Rights

Here’s some pretty big news that surfaced during Anime Expo 2009 (at least for the parties involved). Namco Bandai has secured the rights to publish Dragon Ball titles across all game platforms. The five year agreement begins in January 2010, but Namco Bandai will also be publishing three Dragon Ball titles in 2009, kicking things off a little early.

Those titles include Dragon Ball: Raging Blast (Xbox 360, PS3), Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo (Wii), and Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans (DS). I’m pretty sure the DB titles are big sellers, so this is a major acquisition for Namco Bandai. Now, maybe they can work some crossover voodoo and bust out that Soul Calibur/DBZ game that I JUST NOW thought up.

This bit of info came this weekend from one of FUNimation’s many AX news updates.
