The award-winning manga My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 is getting even more popular with the run of Madhouse’s anime adaptation! Right now My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 is available in America exclusively on the Mangamo digital manga app, but Mangamo has just inked a deal with Penguin Random House for it to also come out in print.
Inklore, a brand-new imprint at Penguin Random House, is handling the print release. The deal, which involves worldwide rights, was brokered between Rebecca “Tay” Taylor, the Editorial Director at Inklore, and Mangamo. Print copies of My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 should begin coming out early next year.
“We are thrilled to launch our global pop comics imprint, Inklore, with My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 in partnership with our wonderful colleagues at ComicSmart and Mangamo. Mashiro’s bubbly and hilarious romance has stolen the hearts of readers around the globe, including ours. We can’t wait to bring the English print edition of this classic-in-the-making to its dedicated and passionate fans!” said Taylor in an exclusive quote to Otaku USA.
“Penguin Random House has extensive experience over the past two decades as a distributor of manga, as well as a deep editorial understanding of manga, so we are super excited to be working with Rebecca and her accomplished team to bring the print version of My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 to Yamada-kun fans,” said Mangamo CEO Buddy Marini.
Publishers Weekly explained:
“Penguin Random House is launching a new pop-comics imprint, Inklore, that will publish ‘manga, manhua, manhwa, webcomics adaptations, and light novels’ in collaboration with Del Rey UK. They write in a release that the Inklore ‘will be a pop-comics imprint celebrating the most popular, fan-driven tropes in visual storytelling, with a focus on digital-to-print licensed publishing in the romance, fantasy, science fiction, horror, and slice-of-life genres.’”
More about this publication will be discussed at “My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 with Mangamo” panel at Anime Expo.
