My Dress-Up Darling Chief Animation Director Shows Off Impressive Work

Episode 3 was another banger for the My Dress-Up Darling anime adaptation, which took a break from pure fan-service to return to something a little more wholesome and endearing. Okay… with the exception of a couple key moments! No matter what was happening on screen, though, CloverWorks continues to do an outstanding job, and that’s thanks in no small part to chief animation director Jun Yamazaki.

Some of Yamazaki’s previous work includes animation direction on shows like New Game!! and Wonder Egg Priority, and they took to Twitter to show off some of the contributions to the third episode of My Dress-Up Darling.

Crunchyroll is streaming the My Dress-Up Darling anime—which adapts the manga of the same name by Shinichi Fukuda—as it airs. Here’s the official synopsis:

Wakana Gojo is a high school boy who wants to become a kashirashi–a master craftsman who makes traditional Japanese Hina dolls. Though he’s gung-ho about the craft, he knows nothing about the latest trends, and has a hard time fitting in with his class. The popular kids–especially one girl, Marin Kitagawa–seem like they live in a completely different world. That all changes one day, when she shares an unexpected secret with him, and their completely different worlds collide.
