This July marks the long-awaited premiere of My Dress-Up Darling season 2. While we wait, a new trailer has arrived to reveal the opening song artist. Spira Spica returns once again to do the honors, this time with new opening song “Ao to Kirameki” (“Blue and Sparkle”). Check out the reveal along with some footage in the video below.
My Dress-Up Darling Season 2 Theme Song Reveal
The first season of the anime, based on the manga by Shinichi Fukuda, ran from January to March 2022. The final chapter of the manga, which originally kicked off back in 2018, was published on March 21. The first anime season was animated at CloverWorks and directed by Keisuke Shinohara. The staff and cast of season 1 will be back for season 2.

Traumatized by a childhood incident with a friend who took exception to his love of traditional dolls, doll-artisan hopeful Wakana Gojō passes his days as a loner, finding solace in the home ec room at his high school. To Wakana, people like beautiful Marin Kitagawa, a trendy girl who’s always surrounded by a throng of friends, is practically an alien from another world. But when cheerful Marin–never one to be shy–spots Wakana sewing away one day after school, she barges in with the aim of roping her quiet classmate into her secret hobby: cosplay.
