Mixed Vegetables Creator Debuting New Manga This Month

Fans of Ayumi Komura have a reason to be happy. The creator of the popular shojo series Mixed Vegetables just announced that she’ll be coming out with a new manga. Not a lot has been revealed about it yet, but we do know that it will be called Ichijō-san wa Are ga Gaman Dekinai (translated as Ichijo Can’t Withstand That). It will debut in Julian Publishing’s digital manga magazine Pur Comics later this month, on the 25th.

According to Komura, the manga is about a girl who prefers to be on her own, and a lone wolf boy who is the titular Ichijo.

Komura has worked on multiple series before this. Her Akumade Futari wa Business desu (translated as Those Two Keep it Strictly Business) began in April 2020 and concluded in November of that year. She additionally recently worked on the manga Okuchi no Sensei wa Shojo Danshi (translated as The Dentist Was a Virgin Guy). This year she came out with Henshoku Kyūketsuki wa Hito no Chi ga Kirai (translated as The Vampire With an Unbalanced Diet Hates Human Blood), which began in May and finished in October.

Still, her most well-known title would probably be Mixed Vegetables, which is published in America by VIZ Media. VIZ gave this description of the first volume:

“Hanayu knows that it will break her parents’ hearts if she defects from the bakery to become a sushi chef. But if she marries into a sushi family, they’ll have to understand her decision. Now she just has to get Hayato Hyuga interested in her, and what better way than to wow him with her cooking skills?!

Can Hanayu create the recipe for happiness?”
