Hatsune Miku has teamed up with a lot of companies and groups, so why not team up with McDonald’s, the restaurant chain that keeps showing its love for otaku interests?
A few days ago, McDonald’s Japan shared an image on social media that was clearly an outline of Miku, with the note, “This year’s McShaker Fries® will feature this person!”

After a day, McDonald’s Japan shared the clear image of Miku and wrote, “McShaker Fries® and Hatsune Miku collaborate! Something will happen on Miku Day…!? It is not green onion flavored.”

Miku Day is March 9.
For a little something extra, McDonald’s Japan then shared this cat-themed video on Cat Day (February 22) that spoofs the Hatsune Miku Niconico video “Nyanyanyanyanyanyanya!”

Besides being a Vocaloid, Miku has fought against the COVID pandemic, performed at Coachella, and gotten her own movie, COLORFUL STAGE! The Movie: A Miku Who Can’t Sing. GKIDS is releasing the movie in American theaters on April 11 and gave this description for its plot:

COLORFUL STAGE! The Movie: A Miku Who Can’t Sing is an animation film by studio P.A.WORKS featuring an all-new Hatsune Miku and the first film with the iconic Virtual Singer. Based on HATSUNE MIKU: COLORFUL STAGE!, a game about high school students finding their true feelings through music in an alternate world called “SEKAI” with the help of Hatsune Miku.
Ichika is a high school musician who can enter a mysterious place called “SEKAI,” where she and her friends express their innermost emotions through music alongside Hatsune Miku. One day after giving a live performance, Ichika meets a new Miku that she has never seen before. No matter how hard this new Miku tries to sing, she struggles connecting with the hearts of her listeners. Miku must rely on the help of others to find a way to sing again.
