The MangaPlaza digital manga site debuts on March 1, and in the meantime they’re offering some exclusive pre-registration bonuses. For instance, Obey Me! The Comic is getting its exclusive English premiere here, and there will also be Obey Me! collaboration campaigns with YouTuber Akidearest. In addition to that, there’s a cashback campaign where you could potentially get a month’s subscription for free.
The pre-registration campaign has already started, and will continue until February 28, right before the official launch. During this time, the trial page will also offer some manga to read for free.
“MangaPlaza’s concept is based on its goals to serve both the manga industry and the global fan community,” the company explained in a press release. “By offering overseas fans access to content that is localized, tailored, and reasonably priced, MangaPlaza aims to provide access to a broader range of officially licensed digital titles and ultimately contributing to the industry-wide efforts in stopping the circulation of pirated content.”
MangaPlaza will offer manga from Japanese publishers as well as brand-new manga. Shonen, shojo, seinen, josei, BL and teen love will be among the many available genres.
You can sign up for the monthly subscription rate and be able to read about 10,000 manga chapters. Or you can forgo the subscription and just buy the titles you’re interested in. MangaPlaza says that the majority of their titles will offer a free chapter so fans can check it out before deciding if they want to buy.
MangaPlaza is brought to us by NTT Solmare Corp from Osaka, which in turn is a subsidiary of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone West Corporation. They are also behind the hit 2019 mobile romance game Obey Me! (hence the exclusive Obey Me! manga) and the Japanese ebook site Comic C’moA, which offers more than 880,000 books.
