Man Climbs Side of Building to Steal About $10,000 in Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokémon Cards

yu-gi-oh!

Earlier this month 28-year-old Kensuke Nakanishi allegedly did a major heist to steal almost $10,000 worth of rare Yu-Gi-Oh! and Pokémon cards.

Reports say that he went to the top of a tall building in Tokyo during the early morning hours, tied himself to the edge of the roof, and lowered himself to the sixth story. He broke a window and allegedly stole the cards, plus 260,000 yen (about $2,359.15) from a trading card shop. He took about 80 cards in all.

Security camera footage led police to Nakanishi yesterday. When he was arrested, he informed police, “I was in the rock climbing club in high school, so I wasn’t scared about being up that high.”

He claims that he stole the items in order to sell them and pay off his debts.
