Love Live! Superstar! Actress Takes on Attack on Titan’s “Akuma no Ko”

CrosSing is described as a “cover song project where artists active in each industry sing ‘one song of memories’.” In its latest video it tapped VA Nagisa Aoyama to sing “Akuma no Ko” from Attack on Titan Final Season Part 2. Aoyama’s career in anime has mainly consisted of her playing Ren Hazuki in Love Live! Superstars! and, needless to say, Attack on Titan is very different from Love Live! Superstars!, so it gives her a chance to show her range.

Here she is taking on the Attack on Titan ending theme:

After recording, Aoyama shared a video message to fans, saying, “I was so nervous! We shot the video at the same time, but the singing was just too difficult. It was difficult, but the more emotion I put into the song, the more I enjoyed it. By the end of the recording session, I was filled with a feeling like, ‘I’ve done it all!'”

In the anime, Ai Higuchi performs the song.

Kodansha publishes the original Attack on Titan manga by Hajime Isayama, and gave this description for its plot:

“A century ago, the grotesque giants known as Titans appeared and consumed all but a few thousand humans. The survivors took refuge behind giant walls. Today, the threat of the Titans is a distant memory, and a boy named Eren yearns to explore the world beyond Wall Maria. But what began as a childish dream will become an all-too-real nightmare when the Titans return and humanity is once again on the brink of extinction… Attack on Titan is the award-winning and New York Times-bestselling series that is the manga hit of the decade! Spawning the monster hit anime TV series of the same name, Attack on Titan has become a pop culture sensation.”
