Very exciting news surfaced earlier today for fans of Chainsaw Man manga creator Tatsuki Fujimoto. One of the author’s stellar one-shots, Look Back, is set to be adapted into an anime film. Flip Flappers director Kiyotaka Oshiyama is at the helm and is also handling screenplay writing duties and is adapting the character designs for animation.

Animation production house Studio Durian, which is Oshiyama’s studio, is producing the film, which is scheduled to open in Japan on June 28, 2024. Check out a teaser trailer and visual below.

VIZ Media published the Look Back one-shot digitally and in print, and describes it like so:

The overly confident Fujino and the shut-in Kyomoto couldn’t be more different, but a love of drawing manga brings these two small-town girls together. A poignant story of growing up and moving forward that only Tatsuki Fujimoto, the creator of Chainsaw Man, could have crafted.
