TOHO Studios and Netflix have inked a deal so that Netflix can use some of TOHO’s stage facilities for projects. Their first project together will be the previously announced live-action adaptation of Yu Yu Hakusho. It didn’t say when the project aims to be finished, but that it will stream worldwide on Netflix when it does.
Kazutaka Sakamoto and Akira Morii will produce, with Sakamoto working as executive producer. Sakamoto says that Yu Yu Hakusho has been part of his own life and promises that the best of the best in Japan and elsewhere will be tapped for this project.
The manga originally ran from 1990 to 1994.
