laid-back camp season 3

We first learned that Laid-Back Camp season 3 was in the works back in October 2022, and now 2024 premiere plans have been announced along with some staff changes. According to the official reveal, Shin Tosaka (Infinite Stratos 2) is taking over as director, following up on the work of previous director Yoshiaki Kyogoku of the first two seasons and the anime film.

The studio has also changed, with production moving from C-Station to 8bit. Masafumi Sugiura (Umamusume Pretty Derby) is handling series composition and Hisanori Hashimoto is making his character designer debut. Among the returning staff members are Akiyuki Tateyama on music and Takeshi Takadera on sound direction.

Laid-Back Camp season 3 will see the cast from the first two seasons and movie returning for more in their respective roles.

Yen Press publishes the manga in English and the anime adaptation is available to stream on Crunchyroll. There’s also a live-action TV series, video games and an anime film, the latter of which is also on Crunchyroll.

Here’s how Crunchyroll describes the series:

Nadeshiko, a high school student who had moved from Shizuoka to Yamanashi, decides to see the famous, 1000 yen-bill-featured Mount Fuji. Even though she manages to bike all the way to Motosu, she’s forced to turn back because of worsening weather. Unable to set her eyes on her goal, she faints partway to her destination. When she wakes up, it’s night, in a place she’s never been before, with no way of knowing how to get home. Nadeshiko is saved when she encounters Rin, a girl who is out camping by herself. This outdoorsy girls story begins with this first encounter between Nadeshiko and Rin.
