Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair 2025 Set for September

Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair 2025 Set for SeptemberKyoto International Manga Anime Fair, or KYOMAF, is the largest event dedicated to manga, anime and games in western Japan. Now KYOMAF has revealed some details about the 2025 event, including dates and key art.

This year’s KYOMAF will take place September 20 and 21 at Miyako Messe, Rohm Theatre Kyoto and the Kyoto Manga Museum. Applications for booths and stage exhibitions just opened, but 2024 featured about 70 different companies showing off their stuff.

The key art for the event was also revealed today. It features the official characters for Kyoto City and the city’s transportation bureau, and is illustrated by Sakura Momona, who won the Grand Prize in last year’s KYOMAF Creators Contest U25.

This year’s Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair ambassadors will be the voice actors Nobuhiko Okamoto (My Hero Academia) and Manaka Iwami (Lazarus).

I usually think of Tokyo as the place to be for anime, manga and game events, but between KYOMAF and Bitsummit, Kyoto ain’t too shabby either. And it’s nice to see that KYOMAF made it safely through those lean pandemic days.
