Junji Ito’s Uzumaki is Getting an Anime Adaptation


Junji Ito is currently at Crunchyroll Expo 2019 this weekend, and the acclaimed manga artist already had a big announcement for fans during his live drawing session. Production I.G CEO Maki Terashima-Furuta revealed plans for an anime adaptation of Ito’s Uzumaki manga, with the series to premiere on Adult Swim’s Toonami block in 2020 ahead of the Japanese debut.

Mushishi director Hiroshi Nagahama is helming the adaptation, and Hollywood film composer Colin Stetson (Hereditary) is composing the music. Check out a teaser from Toonami below, and follow the official Twitter account for more.
