The moment fans of JUJUTSU KAISEN have been eagerly anticipating has finally arrived. Following the success of the JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 prequel film, a stage event revealed this weekend that JUJUTSU KAISEN season 2 is currently in production and planned for a debut sometime in 2023.
Manga author Gege Akutami shared a special illustration via the official Twitter account to celebrate the news.
Crunchyroll streamed the first season of the JUJUTSU KAISEN anime as it aired, followed by an English dub, and both Crunchyroll and Funimation are gearing up to bring JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 to theaters in North America on March 18. Other territories will follow for the film, as well.
Anime studio MAPPA confirmed that it is handling animation production for season 2.
VIZ Media publishes Akutami’s manga in English and describes it like so:
Although Yuji Itadori looks like your average teenager, his immense physical strength is something to behold! Every sports club wants him to join, but Itadori would rather hang out with the school outcasts in the Occult Research Club. One day, the club manages to get their hands on a sealed cursed object. Little do they know the terror they’ll unleash when they break the seal…
