Japanese Man Arrested for Stealing 80 Detective Conan Manga Volumes

There are a lot of copies of Gosho Aoyama’s Detective Conan manga floating around, and a 26-year-old man in Mie Prefecture recently made off with 80 in total. Aoi Hattori was arrested for suspected theft after he was caught on camera stealing various volumes of the series, and he eventually confessed to the alleged crimes.

Tokai TV reported that the thefts took place over three trips, during which Hattori absconded with bundles of Conan manga stuffed into his bag. After confessing, Hattori said, “I liked Detective Conan … I thought I could sell them for money.”
