Hunter x Hunter Volume 38 Trailer Spotlights Phantom Troupe

In a little over a month, Hunter x Hunter fans will be treated to a new chapter of Yoshihiro Togashi’s long-running series. Ahead of that, though, the first collected volume in nearly two years is hitting shelves in Japan. To celebrate, the official channels shared a Hunter x Hunter volume 38 trailer that puts the spotlight on members of the Phantom Troupe.

Prior to the Japanese release of Hunter x Hunter Volume 38, Volume 37, which includes chapters 381-390, launched in Japan on November 4, 2022.

Togashi has touched upon his poor health many times, previously announcing plans to increase his staff to help with production of future chapters. Said staff of assistants have most recently been given instructions for the backgrounds in chapters 409-410.

VIZ Media publishes Hunter x Hunter in English and gave this description for the first volume:

Hunter x Hunter Synopsis

“Gon might be a country boy, but he has high aspirations. Despite his Aunt Mito’s protests, Gon decides to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a legendary Hunter. The Hunter hopefuls begin their journey by storm-tossed ship, where Gon meets Leorio and Kurapika, the only other applicants who aren’t devastated by bouts of seasickness.

Having survived the terrors of the high seas, Gon and his companions now have to prove their worth in a variety of tests in order to find the elusive Exam Hall. And once they get there, will they ever leave alive…?”
