Honey Lemon Soda Manga Grabs TV Anime

Honey Lemon Soda Manga Grabs TV AnimeMaru Murata’s Honey Lemon Soda, which our own Danica Davidson describes as “an all-out shojo manga,” has landed an anime adaptation.

The series will be helmed by Hiroshi Nishikiori (A Certain Magical Index) with animation at J.C. Staff. Other staff members include:

Scripts: Akiko Waba (Blue Reflection Ray)
Character designs: Aimi Tanaka
Music: Akira Kosemura (Ao no Orchestra)

The manga has been running since 2015, and has over 12 million copies in circulation. Wowie zowie. We’ll share more deets for the series, including cast and premiere season, when we get ’em!

Here’s how Yen Press describes the manga:

Middle school left Uka Ishimori with nothing but scars—to the point where she’s forgotten how to laugh or cry or even say “hello.” But a chance reencounter with a boy with lemon-colored hair invigorates her, giving her hope that maybe, just maybe, life can be that much sweeter if she finally reaches out for help.
