The next Free Comic Book Day is scheduled to occur on May 4, 2024, and its titles have been revealed! While the bulk of the comics are American graphic novels, there are some manga goodies being offered as well, sometimes in the form of previews.
VIZ Media is offering up Pokémon Adventures: Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire by Hidenori Kusaka and Satoshi Yamamoto, Splatoon 3: Splatlands by Sankichi Hinodeya, and One Piece: Ace’s Story-The Manga: Experience by Boichi and Ryō Ishiyama.
Kodansha has Initial D by Shūichi Shigeno and Kaina of the Great Snow Sea by Tsutomu Nihei.
ABLAZE Publishing is giving out horror manga Gannibal by Masaaki Ninomiya.
Udon Entertainment’s selected manga is Street Fighter vs. Final Fight issue #1.
A “snippet” of Unico Awakening by Samuel Sattin and Gurihiru, from Osamu Tezuka’s work, is being contributed by Graphix.
There is also going to be a new Gatchaman comic series by Cullen Bunn, Tommy Lee Edwards, Steve Orlando and more, published by Mad Cave.
Altogether there are 48 different comics being offered, and they were selected by a committee of comic shop retailers.

We know comic book retailers are looking forward to treating their communities to a day of fun and discovery, and we think this year’s comic book selection really reflects that! The variety of this year’s comic book selection is really exciting! There’s something for every kind of fan, from long-time readers to the comic book curious.”
Other publishers involved in 2024’s Free Comic Book Day include Archie Comics, Andrews McMeel Publishing, DC, Marvel, Arcana Comics, IDW, BOOM! Studios, Dynamite Entertainment, Papercutz, Alien Books, Dark Horse Comics, Penguin Young Readers, Titan Comics, First Second Books and more.
