Gintama Anime Prepares for Return to TV

The Gintama anime, based on the manga by Hideaki Sorachi, is almost ready to return to television in Japan. Previous seasons of Gintama, which has been streaming on Crunchyroll, ran from 2006-2010, and April 2011-March 2012.

The alt-history comedy’s third season kicks off on October 4, and, as you’ll see in the new promo below, protagonist Gintoki is deep in preparation for his return to the airwaves.

In addition to the October return of the anime, there’s also a second Gintama film scheduled for release in 2013, with Sorachi contributing his own input.
