Today must be Movie Theater Monday, because a lot of the news popping up has to do with a handful of exciting upcoming US theatrical showings. The latest concerns the live-action take on Gantz.
Shinsuke Sato’s adaptation of Hiroya Oku’s manga—which stars Death Note and Detroit Metal City‘s Ken’ichi Matsuyama, among others—has advanced screenings scheduled for the states next year. The Advanced peek kicks off on January 20, 2011, but the staff of the two-part flick announced that it will eventually run in 300 theaters across the United States.
The first film’s Japanese opening is set for January 29, with the second hitting screens on April 23. We’ll keep our ears to the streets for more information on US dates when they’re available.
