Gachiakuta, the upcoming anime adaptation of the manga from Kei Urana, has just revealed a promo video and a new piece of key art.
The series, which hits screens this July, is animated at Bones and directed by Fumihiko Suganuma (Shirobako episode director). It’s written by Hiroshi Seko (Chainsaw Man) and features music by Taku Iwasaki (Bungo Stray Dogs). The key art revealed today is illustrated by series chief animation director Satoshi Ishino (Date A Live).
Gachiakuta kicked off in 2022 and is still running. Here’s how Kodansha USA describes it:
In this highly-anticipated new action manga, a young boy is framed for murder and cast off the edge of a floating city into the abyss, where he grapples with the monsters that the elite high above would rather forget. The more the rich glitter, the higher the price paid by the poor… With a premise that recalls Battle Angel Alita and kinetic battles reminiscent of Attack on Titan, Gachiakuta is a must-read for fans of dark, dystopian fantasies like Deadman Wonderland!
