The anime adaptation of Fullmetal Alchemist author Hiromu Arakawa’s agricultural manga Silver Spoon is getting ready to join the noitaminA block in Japan this summer, and now we finally have a better look at the show in action.
Inspired by Arakawa’s upbringing as a Hokkaido farmer, Silver Spoon tells the tale of Yugo Hachiken, a bright student who schemes to get away from his family by enrolling in an agricultural school. However, while moving to the dorms may accomplish this, perhaps it’s more work than he originally imagined.
Tomohiko Ito (Sword Art Online, Occult Academy) directs with assistance from Kotomi Deai, and scripting from Usagi Drop‘s Taku Kishimoto. Check out the promo below in two forms.
UPDATE: Looks like the videos have been closed off from North America, so hopefully you got to check them out! We’ll replace them with working clips ASAP.
Some footage was also shown at the end of a noitaminA retrospective clip. The late-night anime block originally launched in 2005.
