Back in July we posted about plans for New Kabuki: Final Fantasy X, which will mark the first ever kabuki performances for the RPG. General sales for those performances will go live in Japan on November 19, and a brief new teaser has arrived with a second commercial, featuring the narration of original Tidus voice actor Masakazu Morita, as well as Tidus kabuki actor Kikunosuke Onoe.
Here’s Kikunosuke Onoe and Masakazu Morita side by side:
Ahead of general sales this November, advance sales are set to be available on the official website from September 14 to October 2.
New Kabuki: Final Fantasy X will be performed at IHI Stage Around Tokyo—which has a 360º stage with the audience seats placed on a rotating tray in the center—in Toyosu, Tokyo next spring. Kabuki actor Kikunosuke Onoe—who is currently working on the kabuki adaptation of Hayao Miyazaki’s Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind—will perform and co-direct the play.
